A tired and worn-out dog gets a new chance to have fun after being rescued by an animal protection group. The dog was found in very bad conditions by kind-hearted soldiers while wandering the streets of Lota, Chile.

When the volunteers from Patitas Sin Hogar found her, she had sad eyes. They named her Princess Leia and could see all the suffering she endured in her eyes and her body.

The little girl didn’t have a shelter or someone to care for her properly. So, the rescue team acted right away and took her to the vet for a check-up. They also wanted to help her trust humans again.

Refugio Patitas Sin Hogar is responsible for treating Princess Leia and finding her a temporary home. They provided her with flea and tick protection, treated her eye infection, and gave her nutritious food. She will stay in the shelter until Wednesday and will receive a hygienic shower before leaving her temporary home.

This dog’s case is significant to the shelter volunteers, as they had been searching for her for a long time. Leia is a stray dog known as Viejita de Lota, and although she doesn’t have an owner, the neighbors take care of her. However, one day she disappeared, and that’s when Patitas Sin Hogar Shelter learned her story.

The concerned neighbors sought help from the security team to find Leia. When the volunteers finally found her, they promised never to lose her again and welcomed her to Patitas Sin Hogar Shelter.

No one knows what this old dog went through during her time away from the community that usually cares for her, but now it’s her turn to have a better life. Despite her fear, she still showed love, which made everyone at the shelter happy. Together, they will witness her rebirth and provide constant care and trust.
