In a historic moment for the Saint Louis Zoo, a cheetah has made history by giving birth to an extraordinary litter of eight cheetah cubs. This remarkable event took place at the Saint Louis Zoo River’s Edge Cheetah Breeding Center on November 26, 2017. Among these cubs, there are three males and five females.
The cheetah mother and her newborn cubs are thriving, and they will spend the next few months in the comfort and safety of their private indoor maternity den, away from the public eye but under the dedicated care of the zoo’s staff.
This joyous occasion is not only a momentous achievement for the zoo but also a testament to the ongoing commitment to the conservation of these incredible big cats. The Saint Louis Zoo continues to play a vital role in the preservation of cheetahs, ensuring their legacy for generations to come.
